The Rhythm of Life

“Wherever we are, what we hear is mostly noise. When we ignore it, it disturbs us. When we listen to it, we find it fascinating.” –John Cage

Taking a cue from this morning’s Washington Post article, The Metro’s Musical Stairs by Chris Richards, which includes the above quote, I invite you to think about the noise and the music in your life and respond to this blog with snippets of what you hear around you.

Today I’ll be listening to the rhythmic chatter of a happy two-year-old named Ava, and that will certainly be music to my ears.

The Washington Post invites readers to create their own version of Metro Music. For details go to http://washingtonpost/style
